Angels & Demons0

This post contains spoilers. So read at your own risk!

I’d already started reading the book when I found out a month or two ago that Angels and Demons will be shown on big screen. I got pretty excited, so I made a last-ditch effort to finish reading the book as fast as I could and planned to see the movie on its first showing day. But since I was in Baguio (May 15) that time, I was not able to watch it.
Angels and Demons
For the past few weeks that I was reading the book, I couldn’t help but brag to my husband how interesting and intelligently-written the book was. At first he was skeptical, thinking that it might be just another anti-christ or anti-catholic kind of story like the controversial book-turned-into-movie The Davinci Code which is actually the sequel of Angels and Demons. So I told him, “No. This is different! This book is way better than The Davinci Code.” Then I started telling him about the plot — the Big Bang Theory versus the Moment of Creation stated in the bible (book of Genesis), how the deep rift began between Science and Religion, the antimatter technology (which is the most volatile substance ever known to man), how the ancient brotherhood called The Illuminati (”The Enlightened Ones”) resurfaced after 400 years to take their much awaited revenge against the Catholic Church for the murder of some underground scientists, how Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) helped the Vatican solve the mystery behind the murder of each Cardinal at the four Altar of Science, and so much more! Whew! ;-) So after I answered all his questions about the book, I was able to convince him to watch the movie with me.
To cut the long story short, we only got to see the movie last Wednesday after work. I couldn’t explain how excited I was. As in my heart was racing! I didn’t know what to expect. Although I learned from a forum that there were important parts in the book that were omitted in the movie to save time and probably to make it less controversial. Some important characters were removed and some were renamed. But I guess I was kinda hoping that they wouldn’t omit the parts that I love in the book. I am not a movie buff, but my husband is. There are things in the movie that disappointed me (well, a little!) because that’s not what happened in the book. I wish they did not omit the story behind the Pope, The Camerlengo (played by Ewan McGregor) and his mother because that would give emphasis as to why the Pope was murdered. That’s my favorite part in the book and they omitted it in the movie! :stubborn: On a positive note, there’s a scene in the movie that made me cry because it turned out to be a victory for one of the cardinals. That’s the only clue I can give you! LOL. I don’t wanna give too much spoilers!
Overall, I think the movie is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! But you’ll appreciate it more if you didn’t read the book because you have no expectations at all. So what are you waiting for? Watch Angels and Demons, or you’ll miss half of your life.

Explore. Dream. Discover.0

Mark Twain once said, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

And you know what I think about it? He’s right. Very right. I hope everyone realizes that too. It’s time for you to get out of your comfort zone! It’s now or never. Remember — your clock is ticking. *wink*

After all, sailing ships are always safe in their harbor, but that’s not what ships were built for.

Have a blessed day ahead! :-)

The new and improved Friendster blog1

I was so shocked — and delighted at the same time. Friendster now uses Wordpress as a blogging platform! (buh-bye, Typepad!). This is such a big improvement. I never really liked blogging via Friendster before. I thought Typepad was corny and had lots of limitations. To be honest, I just created this blog out of curiosity. But now that it’s integrated with Wordpress, I think I’m gonna hang out here often than I used to. Hahaha.

By the way, please visit my domain blog. It’s also powered by the latest version of Wordpress — and it’s hosted, mind you. Haha.

Here’s the link. See yah!

24 hours ago?!0

I am only able to access my Friendster account once a week when I am at home coz I don’t really have the time to surf the web or blog in the office anymore. But for some strange reason, Friendster indicates that the last time I accessed this account was "24 hours ago…" instead of "1 week ago".

Is it just a glitch in their system or something?

So-Cuddly.Net is hosting for free!0

My new site launched yesterday. Yipeee!

It’s http://so-cuddly.net

The good news is that I am offering a free subdomain hosting for bloggers who do not wish to pay for a domain and web hosting. So if you have an existing blog and wanna learn how to use Wordpress as your blogging tool for a change, then here’s your chance! I’ll give you your own FTP account so you’ll learn how to manage your own server.

More more info, click here.

It’s my way of paying it forward to Ate Ethel for giving me a free subdomain hosting when I was just new to blogging. Now I am earning more than my monthly basic salary out of this hobby. Cool, eh? LOL.

Oh Sarah!0

Oh my God…
As in oh my God!
I can’t wait to see Prison Break Season 4!

Sarah_3
20th Century Fox
finally came to their senses and realized that killing Sarah’s character on season 3 was the most terrible mistake they’ve ever made. LOL. It made all the PB fans extremely disappointed that they (the fans) actually implemented the we-want-sarah-back signature campaign online a few months ago — which I participated pro-actively of course. Hahaha.

Anyways…

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to those who signed and supported the campaign for Sarah. Our effort has certainly paid off!

Cheers!

Web hosting0

Learning how web hosting works is quite interesting. That’s primarily the reason why I’ve decided to purchase my own domain last December. Because I knew I was ready then. It took me a while though…Coz I had to make sure my knowledge was enough to run my own site.

Anyway, blogging is a great hobby. I’ve been blogging since 2005. And not only does it allow me to express myself in the World Wide Web, it also taught me how to build a unique friendship with the people I meet on line. People who have the same interest as me. People who are unbelievably nice eventhough you don’t see them in person. People who are more than willing to help me with things I wanted to know about Pro-blogging, web building, CSS, HTML, PHP — you name it. I did a lot of studying on my own too. But still, the help I got from my awesome online friends was the best.

So to show my debt of gratitude, I try to help others as much as I can too. Yup, pay it forward… You can call it that way. And guess what? Next month, I will buy another domain and will host bloggers for free so they can also learn how to run their own hosted blogs using Wordpress of course. It’s still the best blogging tool ever. I so love it.

Online gaming0

I am not into online games. But I am not surprised that now you can even play casino online and poker at the comfort of your home and mind you — reap the same benefits as well.

With technology being the best creation ever known to man, nothing is impossible anymore. That’s primarily the reason why technology has always been this amazing and admirable to me. And for someone as internet junkie as me, I don’t think life could be as convenient without the internet. Hahaha. Come to think of it though…It really does make sense, right? Now there are a lot of things that you can do online. One of which is BLOGGING. Come on, guys! Aside from playing casino online or other games, you can also  earn some dollars by just writing reviews online. That’s easy money.

Paid blogging is well-known for paying decent dollars straight to your PayPal account. And trust me when I say it is. Wanna see how much I have now? LOL.
